Joyous January at Tots Play

Well what a great start to the New year we've had here at Tots Play. It’s been fantastic to welcome back so many of you and meet lots of new faces too (we prefer to think of you as part of the family by now though).

New Classes

New classes were launched in several areas, including Chesterfield, Wolverhampton and Kilsyth, meaning we can offer sessions to even more Tots, which we are very excited about. Do visit the Find a Class page on our website for details of and availability for classes in your area.

Action Tots

We also launched our brand new pre-schooler classes, Action Tots in two new areas, Birmingham and Kettering, with more areas coming soon.

Our Tots in North Tyneside have been enjoying taking part in Action Tots classes since September, and it’s been fantastic to see their progress. If you haven’t come across Action Tots yet, it’s our newest classes for 2 to 4 year olds, leading on from our Social Tots, with a focus on physical play including time on our fantastic balance bikes, from market leader, Strider Bikes.

Using a range of fun games, songs and equipment from bean bags to balance bikes, your little one will have the chance to develop and practice skills such as balance, co-ordination and both fine and gross motor skills, challenging themselves in lots of different ways.

From the early riding skills practice on our toddler size balance bikes to learning how to stretch and relax, with simple yoga and massage, Action Tots will boost your toddler’s body awareness, confidence, fitness and social skills as you laugh and play together. Why not check if this class is available in your area yet, and if not, do register your interest with your class leader.

National Hug Day

Also this month we celebrated National Hug day on 21st and National Storytelling week from 27th Jan. We loved seeing pictures like these of some lovely hugs being shared for National Hug Day. Did you see our blog post on Why Babies Love a Cuddle?

National Storytelling Week

For National Storytelling week many of our classes planned special activities, from sensory play based around favourite stories like Elmer and The Very Hungry Caterpillar to Story Massage and visits from book companies to introduce new stories to our parents and little ones.

Tots Play Through to the Finals!

And one more piece of news, we are very excited to announce **We're through to the finals!** Thanks so much to everyone who voted for Tots Play for the Mum and Working Awards. We are thrilled to have made it through to the finals, and couldn't have done it without your support. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in March, so will keep you posted as to how we get on, but very excited to have got this far.

This Month Our Tots are Loving…..Tummy Time

Tummy time is always a popular activity at our classes, as we have lots of ideas to make it really fun. That way our babies get all the benefits of strengthening their next, back and upper bodies without even realising it! Here are some of our Sunderland Tots showing off their tummy time skills.

Pics of the month

To finish off our round up of the month for January, here are a few of our favourite pictures from classes, this month featuring our North East and Scotland region.

If you have been with us for classes in January, thanks so much and I hope you had a fantastic time.

Not tried us out yet? Still time to join us for some February fun. Find your local classes HERE.

Have a great month and happy playing!
