There is certainly a place for a “stay and play” group, where the mums are able to sit back and chat while the children independently play. Tots Play though is something entirely different. We provide structured classes, providing those that attend (mums, dads, grandparents or carers) with the

opportunity spend some focused time with their child doing a variety of different activities, which are not only lots of fun, but have many developmental benefits too.

You will learn valuable skills to help build the bond you have with your little one and embrace the precious time that they are a baby, crawler or toddler. The structure of the sessions, with both group activities and time for free play and exploration, means you can really make the most of every moment.

Sessions do include the opportunity to chat and make friends too, and many long term friendships are formed at Tots Play. Helping you feel comfortable, welcome and part of the group is a key element of our class leader’s role, so you don’t need to worry if you don’t know anyone before you come along.

2. It's Every Class You Need in One

At Tots Play we don’t just focus on one thing, as many classes do, but provide exciting opportunities to explore a wide variety of activities. You might want to try baby massage or a yoga class, perhaps you are interested in learning baby sign language or joining a sensory play group. Maybe a physical play group or a musical class is what you fancy. A Tots Play class incorporates all these things. So if you are unsure what class to take your baby to, or what you or they might enjoy, you can’t go wrong with Tots Play.

3. Everything Has a Purpose

A Tots Play class is all about having fun, making memories and sharing special time with your little one, but every element of the class, from the activities to the equipment to the music, is also chosen and structured for the developmental benefits it brings for your child.

As they play you little one will be learning about how their body works, exercising their brain, developing their senses, learning how to take turns and share, building their confidence and lots more, but all in a way that is appropriate to their age and stage of development. All our class leaders are fully trained to understand how each activity helps your child and to encourage everyone to get the most from each session at a level that is just right for them.

Although different every week, our classes follow the same structure each time, and getting to know that structure and the songs and activities we do regularly helps little learners feel confident to try all the new things we have in store. 4. You Can Continue Your Play Times at Home

Tots Play is not just about the time you spend with us at class, we want to encourage and empower you to carry on your play times at home too. Spending focused time playing with your little one on a regular basis is what will really help accelerate their development and the fun you have together.

When you join classes you will either receive a course workbook (for our Baby Development course), or Welcome Booklet (if you are joining Discovery or Social or Action Tots), which explain more about the benefits of what we do and give you ideas to try at home.

To make it even easier for you to continue the fun at home we also offer online courses, activity guides and resources. These include some of the simple and inexpensive, but very effective equipment we use in class, such as scarves, foil blankets, beach balls, and light up toys, and are available either from your class leader or via our online store. You can also download music that we use in class from our website to encourage interaction and development, as well as some sing along fun!
