So, What Happens at a Baby Development Course?

Baby Development is a six week course, specially designed for babies from birth to six months.
We understand that as a new parent (whether for the first or subsequent time) there has just been a huge change in your life and this might even be the first class you have been to with your new little one. Classes are therefore kept small, relaxed and friendly and are a great place to make some new friends, both for you and your baby, as you are all on a similar stage in your journey.
Don't worry that your baby might not want to join in with everything during the sessions. Nice as it might be, those babies don't tend to work to our schedules and need what they need when they need it! If they are asleep, or you need to feed, comfort or just have a cuddle with your little one during class time you will still be able to pick up lots of ways to play, connect and communicate with them, both from watching and listening and also using by practising at home with the help of the comprehensive, full colour, workbook that accompanies the course.
But what are the classes all about?
Each week you will learn different ways to enjoy special time with your baby that will also help enhance their development. Of course each baby is different, so it starts with taking time getting to know each other, and learning to tune in to the subtle ways your baby is communicating with you all the time.
You are encouraged to join in as much or as little as you would like during the sessions and be led by your baby, as you both start to find out what he or she enjoys.
Baby Massage
We will guide you through a simple massage routine where you can share this special form of touch and a beautiful bonding experience with your baby. Learn more about some of the benefits of massage HERE.

Baby Yoga
Yoga based stretches and movements to stimulate body and mind,

We enjoy them even more by practising them along with our favourite nursery rhymes and original songs.

You even get a bit of a work out too, with some of our bigger, more dynamic, movement activities - great for stimulating baby's vestibular system, which relates to balance, movement and spacial awareness. Learn more about getting started with yoga HERE.

Tummy Time and Calming Techniques
We talk about techniques you can use to calm and soothe your baby, and try out different ways to make tummy time more fun and productive, great for strengthening little bodies ready for all the development milestones to come, like sitting, crawling and walking.

Baby aeroplanes...

As well as beach ball fun which always brings about lots of smiles. Find out why tummy time is important for your baby HERE.

Baby Sign Language
Sign language provides a system to make use of baby's natural use of gestures for communication, making it possible for you to have a two way conversation using signs, from as young as a few months. We introduce a few simple signs to get you started. Signs like milk...

and clean, that you can use every day.

Introducing very basics signs early on can enhance your little ones communication skills and encourage communication before they even learn to talk!
Sensory Play
Our knowledgeable class leaders will also explain simple ways to use inexpensive, household items to provide rich sensory experiences for your baby, allowing them to explore and learn about the world around them....

...using all their senses,

And giving them a lovely, brain stimulating experience...

Enjoy Special Time Together
It's never too early to introduce the wonder of bubbles...

Or our special friend, Totsy Monkey.

But the smiles...

Cuddles..

And special moments you share is what the course is really all about.
These early days pass by so quickly, so don't miss a moment ....
