Hi, I’m Jodie. I am a single mum living in Walsall with my 2 children.
I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse and have spent the last 10 years nursing a large variety of animals both here in the UK and in Dubai. It was always my dream job until I had my daughter.
I loved my maternity leave, going to classes, spending quality time with my daughter, and meeting and getting to know other moms and their babies. On returning to work, I just couldn’t get back into the job and didn’t have the same passion for it anymore. So that, and trying to work childcare and family time around my work schedule made me start to think about a career change.
I had attended Tots Play, as well as other mother/baby classes, with my daughter whilst I was on maternity leave and had found it the most welcoming, rewarding and useful class we went to, so, after talking to friends and family, I started to think about running Tots Play classes myself.
This not only gives me the work/life balance I was looking for and something to feel passionate about again, but also the opportunity to share the benefits I got from attending these classes with other parents and little ones.
Each Tots Play class includes a wide variety of activities, so it’s great value for money, and the small group sizes means the classes have a more personal feel and you get to know everyone quickly. The classes also provide lots of ideas and skills that can be taken away and used at home
My daughter was quite poorly after she was born which resulted in her being a few weeks old before she came home and then she suffered with reflux. The support and reassurance Tots Play gave me, helped me to have the confidence to go out more with my daughter and enjoy our time together. After a less than ideal start to my parenting journey, I really believe that Tots Play helped to develop the bond I have with my daughter today.
I feel so privileged to now be able to offer this support, guidance, reassurance and fun to parents/carers and their babies in the Walsall and Sutton Coldfield areas, and love sharing this fantastic programme with you.
